Celebrating Black Culture: The Adrienne Arsht Center's Heritage Fest 2026As we step into a new year, one thing is clear – the celebration of Black culture is here to stay! And what better way to kick off this exciting journey than with an all-day festival that brings together music, dance, theater, and community in one vibrant package? Welcome to Heritage Fest 2026, presented by the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County!
This year's celebration promises to be bigger and better than ever. On Saturday, February 7th, the Arsht campus will transform into a hub of activity as thousands gather to experience the rich tapestry of Black culture. From dawn till dusk, attendees can enjoy an array of interactive workshops, performances, and community vendors that cater to all ages.
One of the highlights of the festival is the lineup of talented performers who will take to the stage throughout the day. Get ready for a fusion of music, dance, and theater as Rashaad Green leads an interactive drumming session, while Nzingah Oniwosan shares her expertise in African dance. Dr. Alana Jackson brings her unique blend of poetry, music, and dance, which is sure to leave you mesmerized.
But that's not all – the festival also features a range of performances by local groups and artists who are making waves in the community. Armour Dance Theatre will showcase their hip-hop and tap skills, while Las Paisanas and Elite Sole Steppers bring their A-game with cultural dance and stepping routines. Young Musicians Unite will treat us to some soulful jazz, and DJ Cardi returns for a 90-minute set that's sure to get you moving.
And if all this wasn't enough, the festival also features two one-woman plays by actor and writer Ann C. Perry about the life and legacy of Harlem Renaissance writer Zora Neale Hurston. This is an incredible opportunity to learn more about the rich history of Black culture and its contributions to American society.
As the day winds down, the celebration will transition into a juke joint-style dance party for ages 18+, starring The CieL Experience. This talented band combines the styles of R&B, swing, hip-hop, and traditional Haitian music in a way that's both fresh and timeless. With special guest artists Arsimmer McCoy and King Friday joining them on stage, this is one performance you won't want to miss.
But what truly sets Heritage Fest apart is its commitment to community engagement and inclusivity. The festival provides a platform for local Black-owned businesses to showcase their products and services, making it an ideal opportunity for attendees to support the community while having fun.
So mark your calendars for February 7th and get ready to experience the best of Black culture in one unforgettable day!
